It takes effort

It is often said that anything worth having takes effort to attain. Jesus giving His life on the cross for us to restore us back to God is a finished work and the only effort it takes to receive this free gift is to accept Jesus into your heart. Romans 10:9-10 teaches us the “work” to be saved is simply a confession and a belief. The effort comes for the Christian who now has to renew his or her mind to the Word of God daily. We have to say what the Word says and not what the world says. We have to make our confession be the Word of God. That takes effort. We can do it because the greater one lives on the inside of us and with Him we can do all things! Philippians 4:13
