The Scriptures teach in Romans 10:8 that the Word of God is close to us. It is in our mouth and in our heart – that is the word of faith which we preach. Let’s look at that verse a little closer. We have to say what God says and then it goes into our heart. Faith comes by hearing the Word . . . you HEAR yourself say it, and say it and say it, and then it drops down into your heart (your spirit) and then you believe it.
But it is the Word of faith – and that Word of faith is preached. If you go on to verse 9 you see where it is written that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. The Word of faith has to be preached (Romans 10:14) because it has to be heard so faith can come. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. (Romans 10:17) So you confess with your mouth Jesus, there is faith for salvation, you believe it in your heart – and your faith reaches through to the supernatural – God’s grace saves you. Grace is God’s unmerited favor. It is His ability to do for us what we cannot do for ourselves. We are saved by grace THROUGH faith. (Ephesians 2:8)
I call faith the channel to the supernatural. Because your mouth is responsible for speaking faith, your mouth is responsible for you accessing the supernatural. What are you saying? Are you speaking in faith and saying what the Word of God says?
