Faith is seeing

The reason that you don’t walk in victory in every area of your life is because you don’t see yourself victorious in every area of your life. What I mean by that is, until you can see yourself successful, you won’t believe you can be successful and you won’t be able to grab hold of the substance and evidence of your success. (Hebrews 11:1 my paraphrase)

I have been teaching on faith. Hebrews 11:1 teaches us that faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. When He says not seen here, He does not mean that it does not exist. Your healing, prosperity, wholeness, soundness of mind . . . all of that exists, but may remain unseen to you because you can’t see yourself that way.

Let me give a couple of examples. So you feel like God called you to be a teacher, but you have a stuttering problem and you are shy and don’t think that you can stand in front of a class to teach. In order for you to do what God has equipped you to do which is teach, you have to see yourself teaching. You have to see yourself standing at the front of the class with your Powerpoint slides, dry erase board giving instruction, and when you can see it . . . you are really on your way to becoming it. What that means is that you really trust God to manifest in you who He said you are . . . a teacher.

The second example I will use for healing. If you don’t understand that healing is a finished work and that it is God’s will for you to be healed you won’t have faith to reach into the supernatural to bring forth healing to your physical body in the natural.

Seeing yourself as God sees you is what I would call the first step of receiving by faith. Send us a comment or visit the website and sign up for our mailing list:
