One of the most dangers thoughts a person can have is to think that they have no usefulness. There is usefulness in you. Your usefulness is defined by who made you and that is God. The Bible teaches that we were made in the image and likeness of God. So just like Jesus had a calling on His life that was known and sure (Luke 1:31-38), you have a calling on your life that is known and sure as well. I believe folks wouldn’t waste their lives if they knew the fullness of what God put in them.

Jeremiah 33:3 teaches us that God is the revealer of secrets. That means that He knows your calling … it may be a secret to you now, but He is wanting to reveal it to you so that you can begin to walk in it. Him revealing it to you is like Him giving you the vision for who He called you to be in Him. Let me give you a couple of scriptures that show you that He does have a calling for you and if you yield to Him, He will begin to reveal to you secrets concerning your calling. Look at Jeremiah 29:11 as well as I Corinthians 2:9-10. What God has prepared for you is revealed by His Spirit – so that means that a prerequisite for hearing from God is being in the Spirit. That is as simple as meditating and studying the Word of God as the Bible teaches that the Scriptures are Spirit and Life.

You have to believe that there is a call on your life. Things work in the Kingdom through faith – Hebrews 11 teaches us that NOW faith is substance and evidence of what we don’t have. In other words, we believe that we have something based on the fact that God said we do – even when we don’t see physical evidence. We have to believe that there is a call on our lives even when it does not seem so to us. Trust God to know that His call on your life exists and is sure and get into a Bible based church to help you discover who He called you to be in Christ.
