How hard is it to find things in the dark? I am sure that you have walked holding on to furniture or to the wall when trying to locate a light switch. When you have seen light and experienced light, you want light. We are born into the dark because of Adam’s sin and when we receive Jesus, Jesus translates us from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of Light. Acts 26:18 talks about this and also talks about us being translated from the power of the enemy and brought into the Kingdom of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ.
Being translated into the Kingdom of light opens the man and woman of God to the things of God. At the time of translation the newly converted becomes a baby Christian and has to begin to grow and mature in the things of God. The Bible teaches that there is no darkness in Christ so that means that the new convert has no darkness in him – all things have become new. The challenge here though is that the old man – and all the things that are associated with darkness and death will not just go away with salvation. I am talking about things like running women, cursing, smoking, doing drugs, etc. Sometimes there is a gradual clearing of those things as the convert grows in the things of God. You have to renew your mind to the word of God and allow His word to instruct you as to how to rid yourself of all of hate daily habits that are a part of darkness and against God.
