Falling vs Standing

Listen to the Sow the Word Teaching Ministry Radio Broadcast on Wednesdays at noon Eastern time on Heaven 98.3 or Heaven 1410 AM or with the iHeart app. We are continuing in the teaching “Overcoming Temptation”. Grow in God with Sow the Word where we are Sowing the Word into the heart of man.

I am sure you have heard the saying that if you don’t stand for something you will fall for anything. There is a posture “in God”. That posture is a posture of boldness in the Holy Spirit. It is not a posture of weakness in Christ and a falling away from the Word. Matthew 26:41 teaches us that we don’t need to fall into temptation. A falling into temptation is a leading of the enemy and us being led to our destruction. Falling is not a position of dominion in Christ. In Ephesians 6:11-12 we are taught that we have to stand against the schemes or lures of the devil. Standing is the posture that is “in Christ”.

Let’s go back to Matthew 26:41. The first part of that verse teaches us that we have to watch and pray that we don’t fall. That lets us know that standing is not an automatic thing. We have to hold fast our confession of faith without wavering. We to beĀ deliberate about our time with God and in study of His Word so that we do not fall into temptation. Stand firm in God!
