What occupies the high places in your life? High places are places of honor and places of esteem. We know that the Word of God is above all so the Word of God is what should be esteemed in our high place and that should be the only thing in our high place. Anything else placed high has the potential to become an idol and take our focus off of God. Overcoming temptation requires us to have our focus on God, after all He is the one who makes the way of escape. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

The key in understanding the casting down of thoughts that raise themselves against the knowledge of God is understanding that the casting down is up to you! Yes, you! You have to cast down the thought. Remember that the initial thought may not seem to lead to temptation. The devil works over time to wear you down so that what may not seem to tempt you initially does over time. We are going to devote an entire teaching to this issue as we progress through this lesson on the radio ministry.

We cast down with the Word of God. Casting down is done by the sword of the Spirit. This is the only offensive weapon that is mentioned with the armor of God in Ephesians 6. The lesson here is that we have to actively weld the sword of the Spirit (the Word of God) against thoughts that are not of God and against temptations. Use the way of escape that God gave you to avoid yielding to temptation. Grow in God with Sow the Word where we are sowing the Word into the heart of man.
