Your source

Listen to the Sow the Word Radio Ministry on iheart radio on Wednesdays at noon.  Grow in God with Sow the Word where we are sowing the Word into the heart of man. We have been studying the book of Daniel.

As we examine Daniel in Daniel chapter 1 we see clearly that he recognized his source. Recognizing your source brings about peace. Knowing that source is God brings about the peace of God. We have been talking about anxiety on the radio. Anxiety is the opposite of peace and we learned as well that anxiety can cause the spirit of fear to manifest. The spirit of fear is not from God.

2 Timothy 1:7 King James Version (KJV)

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

God gave us power, love and a sound mind. Since God has given these to us, this is what our confession should always be. That we walk in the power of God, that we have the love of God and that we have a sound mind. If you think about it, you can see that anxiety is the opposite of a sound mind. There is nothing sound about anxiety, ever.

Let’s get back to talking about your source. Well, your source for what? Your source for all things. Once you understand that God created all things and you realize that things exist and move because of God, you can move to the place where you understand and truly believe that He is your source. Belief is a requirement for receiving from God. In other words, if you don’t BELIEVE that He is your source, He won’t be your source and you will be left to figure out how to make things work by soul power… which means through your own effort.

God wants to be your source. He has to be the focus of your life and you have to decide to trust Him with all that you are and all that you do. Recognizing Him as your source is admitting that in and of yourself you are incapable. That is a difficult statement for many Christians to make because of pride. But understand that God say in John 15:5 that we can do nothing apart from Him. You were created by Him and He loves you and has purpose in you. Once you recognize Him as your source for all things, watch your life begin to change by the power of God.
