You should really start looking closely at the pictures that come across on Facebook. What they are trying to do is introduce through your eye gate things that are contrary to the Word of God. What do I mean by this? Well, many times what you see are “fights” or sexual undertones . . . with the intent to take your mind somewhere it isn’t suppose to go. Facebook is showing you things that God never intended for you to know. Let’s go to the Word here. Genesis 2:17 teaches us that God never intended for Adam and Eve to know evil.
17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and blessing and calamity you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.
Why would this be the case? The Bible teaches in James 1:17 that all good things come from God. So, God wanted man to focus on the good things. Even in Philippians 4:8 God reiterates what He wants us to think on . . . but we feed our eyes foolishness that the world says . . . we watch shows that depict jail life, death and unfaithfulness. We watch shows that depict our fathers as fools and teachers as scared of students. We watch horror shows to try to scare ourselves . . . and watch gore and murders and then wonder why it eventually actually happens . . . somebody goes on a shooting rampage. . . and then we want to go pray and call on God. It is because this evil has been introduced and nurtured and has gone on to produce its fruit, which is death.
Let me go back and show you another scripture that talks about us not knowing evil. Look at Genesis 3:4-5. Here we learn that the serpent (devil) told Eve that she would not surely die after God told her that she would if she ate the fruit. Then we see that the serpent told Eve that she would be as a god knowing good and evil, blessing and calamity. See, God never intended for you to know calamity or evil . . . and that’s almost all you see in the newspaper and with the news media.
Now back to Facebook. Have you noticed that sometimes the videos will start without you even starting them? Have you noticed the language that says something like,”You won’t believe what happened next” or”She killed it” or “Did he really do that?”. That’s to get you to play the video. Be mindful of the tricks of the enemy. He hasn’t changed. You will see folks in the video that when a still image it looks like it might be sexual in nature and now because your mind has gone there, you click on it and see that it really is not sexual but intended to get you to think that way. Understand that if it got you to think that way then it was successful in what it was trying to do . . . whether you actually saw the video or not. At the end of the day our interaction with social media should be by the leading of the Holy Spirit just like everything else we do . . . reply to this post or send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
