Diet is counterfeit. It’s a mind thing.

Take a read of the article above. Sometimes you get diet stuff and it may be more than you bargained for. I want to pose a question to you. How many times have you seen an overweight person order a burger and fries and then get the diet soda? What is that about? There should be no such thing as diets. There should be lifestyles that are healthy all the time.  3 John 1:2 teaches us that God wants us to be in health and prosper even as our soul prospers . . . well, to be in health does not mean that you can be on a never-ending diet. What you can be on is a never-ending life of being led by the Spirit as to the things that you should be eating and making healthy eating a part of who you are.

There are real parallels to the carnal Christian here. The carnal Christian is the Christian who is saved, but is not led by the Spirit. Many times they are caught up into denominationalism and lead flesh based earthy lives and never walk in the Spirit of God. That’s what diet is like. It is counterfeit of the real thing and the plan of the enemy here is to make you think that you are doing something wonderful by getting the diet stuff.  Carnal Christians think that they are walking in the fullness of God. They have to, for if they didn’t they would do something different and hopefully when they experience the Spiritual things of God, they will want more and move from carnality to Spirituality in Christ.

Well, I venture to say that the diet users are probably more overweight than those who use the regular versions. This is not an endorsement on things that are non-diet and a license to go out and eat as much sugar as you want, but it is an endorsement of being led by the Spirit of God as to what you should be eating. Don’t let the enemy play mind games on you and make you think that you have to eat diet to lose weight and get fit and that by eating the diet stuff you must be doing really well. That is a lie. You don’t have to have a counterfeit to live the abundant life God called you to. Eat healthy and exercise by the leading of the Holy Spirit.
