Don’t hate the player, hate the game

Why folks be hating on other folks about relationships and sex. Some dude will want to dog a female out and then drop the line “Don’t hate the player, hate the game” like that is supposed to get him off the hook for some devil inspired behavior. Let’s get practical here. No, aint nobody supposed to hate anybody. God is love and we are to love one another, even our enemies.

New American Standard Bible (©1995)
“But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” Matthew 5:44

The Word here says but I say to you. Who is the you? The you are the followers of Christ. They are the only ones who can really love their enemies because the Christ in them makes that possible. Understand here that you came after Christ ascended. That means that the Holy Spirit came and if you are saved the Holy Spirit, the living God, Jesus lives in you. So, you can’t hate the player. You need to love the player and share Christ with him so that he can begin to walk in the calling that God has on his life.

Well, what about the game? Are we supposed to hate the game? How foolish is that. The Word teaches us in the book of James that when we submit to God, that gives us the ability to resist the devil, and that the devil will then leave us. So what that means ladies, is you don’t have to hate the game. You don’t have to receive the game. The Spirit of God can give you clarity when some knucklehead is about to try the game on you and you can decide that you don’t want to play. Remember that 1st John 4:4 teaches us that God, the greater one, lives on the inside of us. That puts us in the majority and means we have power to overcome all of the power of the enemy. Don’t fall for the player or the game. Both are from the pits of hell and intend nothing but destruction, isolation and pain. Pray for the player and slap the Word on the game.
