Are you really going to walk out?

We have talked before about us being 3 part beings. We are a spirit, we have a soul and we live in a body. The mind, will and emotional part of us make up our soul. We are constantly working on our soulish realm to get it to line up with the Word of God so that it can get our bodies to line up with the Word of God. Romans 12:2 teaches us that we are to renew our minds to the Word of God. That means that our minds need to be renewed from the worldly way of thinking . . . and that our minds should not be ruled by our feelings or emotions, but that we renew our minds with the Word. What the Word says is what we say, and nothing different.

I want to talk about emotions and how they should not be the basis of decisions that we make. We understand that as children of God that we are to be led by the spirit of God. Romans 8:14 teaches us that those that are led by the spirit of God are the sons of God. Many times we are placed in situations that are not comfortable. Sometimes we have work to do that just does not seem to fit with our character. The question here is, “Did God call you to it?” If so, you can’t walk out of it because it feels uncomfortable. Many times when we walk out, our walking out is based on our emotions . . . we may be upset that things are moving the way that we think they should. In our emotional state, we throw up our hands and just walk out of that situation . . . that job, that meeting, that relationship. Remember here that if you walk out of that work that God has called your hands to do, then you have placed yourself outside of the grace of God and His ability to show you how to make yourself successful. Understand that many times things seem challenging to us is because God knows that His strength is made perfect in weakness. If you could do it without His power, He wouldn’t call you to do it.

So don’t walk out on the work that God has called you to do. He has given you grace to do it and it has purpose for the Kingdom of God. Send us a message at sow-the-word@hotmail.com or reply to this post.
