Driven to succeed

Proverbs 23:7 teaches us that as a man thinks in his heart, so is he.  There is so much to say here. You reaching your goals is directly dependent on you SEEING yourself there and thinking in your heart that the goal is attainable. You have to be driven to succeed . . . not because of something YOU want as an outcome, but because you want that special thing that God has just for you and your drive is to please Him in all that you do and say.

So is this drive automatic once you get saved? The answer to that is a resounding NO! God is not making anything automatic for you. You have to decide that you want to be an active participant in the plan of God for your life and that takes Romans 12:2 which says that you have to renew your mind to the Word of God. Let’s spend some time here to get some understanding. First of all this is something that YOU have to do. God is not going to renew your mind for you. Just so you remember, you are a three-part being. You are a spirit, you have a soul (mind, intellect, will and emotions) and you live in a body ( the way that you interact with things here on earth.) When you got saved, your spirit was recreated, not your soul and not your body. If you were short before you got saved, after you got saved you are still short. What this means is that we have to make up our minds that we are going to live the Word of God. God is a God that gives us free will. He doesn’t show up in your bedroom in the morning and tell you which pair of shoes to wear. You decide that . . . so just like you decide that, you should decide to be driven and relentless about pursing the things of God. Well how do you do that?  The place to start is His Word. Begin to study scripture with a desire to understand and God will begin to speak to you through the written Word and you will see how the written Word can speak to your situation or circumstance. Be driven about getting that Word . . . seek to know the Word on everything . . . your question for every life event, decision you have to make, problem that arises . . . should be, what does the Word say about that?  The answer to the senseless things that happen in the world is in the Word. Be driven, study the Word, live the Word and receive the blessings the Word promises. Have a blessed day. Send us a reply or an email at sow-the-word@hotmail.com
