The end from the beginning

Don’t we always want to know what our future holds? We think about rising the corporate ladder, getting that bigger and better job and that bigger and better house. We think about the next big purchase, what we are going to buy with our tax return, etc. We always want to know how things are going to turn out. Sometimes our focus is in the wrong place. Instead of focusing on the future and what the future holds, focus on God who is the author and finisher of our faith. Hebrews 12:2 teaches us to fix our eyes on Jesus. When you fix your eyes on Jesus, you can’t fix your eyes on your problems or on what you think is to come. As 2 Corinthians 5:7 teaches, you walk by faith and not by what you see. So is it wrong to think about the future and what God has in store for you? Certainly not as long as it is framed and directed by God and your thoughts are of how He is going to use you for His glory. The Word teaches that the Holy Spirit will teach you and show you things to come. I take that to mean your future is important to God. He has a call and purpose for your life and a work for you to do here on earth. Get on board with God and learn what He has for your future.  Remember that the work that He has called you to is finished in His eyes.  Isaiah 46:10
