So many people think that God is a mysterious being who wants us to be in the “dark” concerning his plan for our lives. This is far from the truth. The truth of the matter, which is the Word of God, teaches us that God is not trying to hide anything from His children. It’s satan who has blinded the eyes of the world so they can’t see the light which is Christ. You can read this in 2 Corinthians 4:4. So we see the contrast here. The devil wants to keep you blind so that you can’t see Christ, come in to the knowledge of Him (Christ) and fulfill His (Christ’s) purpose in your life . . . and Christ came and gave sight to the blind. Christ came that you can have life and have it more abundantly. This brings us to the point of this post. If you are not saved you WILL NOT UNDERSTAND THE BIBLE. Stop trying. Folks who are not in the kingdom of God have to get saved first and once the Holy Spirit who is the teacher comes to live on the inside of them, He will teach what the scriptures mean and will let you know how the scripture can be applied to your life. Salvation is the position you need to be in to understand the Word of God and be able to go to God and ask Him what you don’t understand. He will reveal it to you in His own timing. You have to have faith and put your total trust in Him. Check out this last scripture here . . . I Corinthians 2:9-10 teaches . . . But as it is written:
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”[a]
10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
If you read verse 9 without 10 you would think that God is keeping things from us. Some folks think it is a mysterious thing to say you never know what God has in store for His children (those who love Him). Have you ever heard folks say that you never know what God is going to do? We do know this. He is going to do what His Word says He is going to do. Don’t take very 9 out of context. This is why we have to go on to read verse 10. Let’s look at this. It says but God has revealed them to us . . . who are the “us”? The “us” is the family of God. This book of the bible is written to the family of God, not those who are saved. It goes on to say that His Spirit is who does the revealing. So if you don’t have His Spirit , you don not have the ability to understand the Word. You need to ask for it. You need to ask Jesus to come live in your heart and just surrender your life to Him. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or respond to this post for more information. Have a blessed night.
