Many times we as Christians give up on our climb. What’s sad about this is oftentimes when we give up, we are very close to reaching the place that God wants us . . . for our benefit and for the benefit of others. Let’s take a look at this illustration here. We see the figure climbing, but we also see what represents a rope and a safety harness. The safety harness while you are climbing is the presence of God. In the picture the safety equipment is seen, but with God, you may not see the safety equipment. You have to know that it is there by faith. Hebrews 11:1 teaches us that faith is the substance of things hoped for. That means that faith itself is the thing that satisfies what you are hoping for while you are hoping for it. We have to remember that God will never leave us nor forsake us. Even when we can’t feel His presence, He is there and He will rescue us if we fall, just like the safety harness on the climber. The key here for us is that we have to keep climbing. No matter the circumstance or what your surroundings tell you, you have to stay focused on God and His Word and climb on in faith. God has great things in store for His children but they can only access those things through faith. Don’t stop climbing before you reach the height that God is calling you to reach. I promise you, the place that you are being called to is a place of fulfillment for you and service to others. Have a blessed weekend.
