The answer is not in the self help book or on the talk show

I don’t know who this is for, but I have a strong urging that there is someone out there who needs answers. You are confused and you don’t know which way to turn. You are not sure if you should go to your family for help or see if your friends will help you. This Christmas season has you down because you don’t know how you are going to pay your bills, let alone get gifts for your children. You are on the verge of being evicted and your job is laying people off.

The answer to your problem is not on the talk show or in the self-help book. I suggest that you stop watching those shows and reading those books. Listen to the Spirit of God as to what you should be watching. Jesus said in John 14:26 that the Holy Spirit is our teacher. If the Holy Spirit is our teacher, then how can we think we can teach ourselves?  How can we think that we need to be taught how to act, what to say, where to shop, how to handle our children, how to have a good marriage, where we should work, based on a non-Christian talk show or out of some self-help book that was written by someone what does not have a relationship with God? If you are not in the family of God you need to make the decision to come into the Kingdom.  You need to cry out to God because you know there isn’t anywhere else you can go. Romans 10:9-10 will instruct you here. Give your life to God, get into a good bible teaching church and begin the transformation to a life in Christ.

An advantage to being taught by the Holy Spirit is that God knows the end from the beginning. He knows where He plans for you to end up in life, and that place is a place specifically designed for you, with ALL that you need. So why not take direction from the Spirit of God? Living in a place of lack, poverty, distress and dysfunction is not God’s will for your life. If you have confusion in this area let me know and we will send you evidence of this.

Here’s how to hear from the Spirit of God. Whatever your situation or circumstance, look for scripture in that particular area. If you don’t have any money, find scriptures that talk about money and having all of your needs met. When you start to meditate (read over and over and over and over and over) on those scriptures the Spirit of God will begin to speak to you and teach you what pertains specifically to YOU concerning those scriptures. When you meditate on scriptures, faith will come, and faith will unlock God’s ability in your life. Try it. I know it works. Email us at sow-the-word@hotmail.com to request prayer.

  1. I was thinking about this today and thought that I would add a few comments here about feelings and thoughts. We have to be really careful that we do not entertain our feelings and our thoughts. It is not about how we feel or what we think. Don’t get caught up trying to give your thoughts or feelings about what God has already decided in His Word. God’s Word is the authority. If you say what the Word says, you will be right everytime. The enemy wants you to think about your feelings. That’s why so often when you see talk show hosts and news reporters they want to know how someone “feels”. You will hear questions like, “How did you feel when you lost your job?”, “what do you think about sleeping around?” Your answers should be scripture in both cases here. In the first example, you can say the Lord will provide all my needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. You can go on to say that the Bible says that the righteous has never been forsaken and their seed won’t be begging for bread. For the second question you say what the Bible says about the marriage bed being undefiled. That means if you are sleeping with someone other than your spouse your bed is defiled and you are walking outside of the will of God for you life. Line up with the Word of God. Let the Word be your thoughts and your feelings.
