Why people do wrong stuff . . . on purpose

Have you ever wondered how people could do things that seem so senseless?  …and admit to doing them and think that those things are the right thing to do? Can you ever get to the point where wrong seems right?  The answer to this question is a resounding YES and it relates back to the kingdom concept. There are two kingdoms, the Kingdom of God (light) and the kingdom of the devil (darkness).  If you have not received Jesus Christ as your personal saviour then you are in the kingdom of darkness. You were born into this kingdom because of Adam’s sin. See previous posts on this if this is confusing to you. When you are in the kingdom of darkness . . . you can go deeper and deeper into the darkness farther and farther away from God to the point that He can’t tug at your heart strings beckoning you to receive Him. Don’t get me wrong here, there are people in the Kingdom of God that can backslide, but I’m talking specifically about darkness here. Let’s give an example to aid in understanding. An unsaved person may go to church on Sundays to check the peeps out, but is not really looking for a relationship with God. This fellow is in the kingdom of darkness. Say he starts going to church less frequently and then stops all together. Now he is getting farther into the darkness. At least when he was going to church he was surrounding himself with church going people and he was hearing some percent of the Word. OK, now he’s not going anywhere . . . so now the things of the world are taking over  . . . the church folks that he knew stop calling after he wouldnt return their calls and ignores their attempts to reach him. He’s got some new friends who also don’t go to church and are not saved, but like to get drunk and do drugs. He thinks he is doing fine because he can get right with God when he gets older. He just wants to party all of the time and have fun now. He thinks that he is invincible and can handle any new cocktail thrown his way. Oops, he dies of an overdose of cocaine and is dead at the age of 25. That way seemed right to him and led to his destruction. Proverbs 16:25 teaches that a way seems right to a man, but at the end leads to death or destruction. Some people do wrong stuff on purpose thinking that it is the right thing to do, because they have gotten so far over into the darkness that they can’t see  the light; just like the guy in our example.  Second Corinthians 4:4 teaches that the god of this world (the devil) has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. The devil got some folks so blind that they stuble along through life doing their own merry thing, with messed up thinking and messed up actions . . . on purpose; never fulfilling their purpose God called them to in the earth and going to the grave early. We just saw a doctor go to prison for giving an injection of a drug that is reserved for hospital use . . . yes the doctor was wrong, but so was the patient in requesting such meds, but that way seemed right, and sadly enough ended in someone’s destruction long before God wanted him to leave.  Receive salvation, allow God to take you from the darkness of being separated from Him to the light that is life in Christ Jesus.  See Acts 26:18. Don’t do jacked up stupid stuff because you think that it’s the right thing to do. Come on out of the dark. Email us at sow-the-word@hotmail.com and we will show you how.
